Two years ago I had this "little" idea to start a podcast. It all began when I was in a reading slump and all the "best-seller" books and books trending on social media were huge disappointments. I stumbled upon an Indie author and read her book and it was good. REALLY good. I started to wonder how many more Indie authors were out there whose books were just waiting to be discovered by readers like me. And Between the Reads was born. |

I can't believe I am now celebrating two years. Eighty-six episodes. Over four thousand downloads. Over 1,800 followers. And the podcast has grown in ways I didn't expect. I created Black Indie Authors Week, Blacktober Reads (featuring Black horror authors during October), and another website called Read It Black to Me that showcases more Black Indie and traditionally published authors. It's been quite a ride! Great authors, new friends, and LOTS of books and I'm not slowing down any time soon. Season three kicks off this Saturday and posts on January 18th and I couldn't be more excited! Not only does Between the Reads have this great new website with more capability to engage with you, but the podcast is now going to be both an audio AND video! That's right! You've asked and I'm delivering! Now that I've moved to a more robust recording platform, there will be a YouTube channel where you can watch the podcast. I've also got some livestream events in the works, too! And it doesn't stop there. My Patreon list has grown from one Patreon to six! That number may seem small to some, but to me it's everything! There's another big -- no HUGE -- project in the works, but you'll have to wait until February 1st for that one. But two years, y'all! And I couldn't do it without you!
